Our dev team is finally ready to showcase their combined efforts with a major platform update. This release includes a new setup for the players, upgraded live streaming, and multiple added options, along with some minor fixes and changes. Read more about it and see the full Platform Update 6.8.0. changelog below.
New Setup for the Players – Templates, Ad Schedules & Ad Sources
With Platform Update 6.8.0. we deprecated the old ways publishers set up players and ads within the player and introduced a new simplified way through the use of player templates, ad schedules, and ad sources. However, keep in mind that all your player configurations have been migrated automatically to the player templates, so no input on your end is needed. Publishers can also find detailed instructions about this new system on our Zendesk.
Upgraded Live Streaming – Faster Start-Up, New Pause Option
With this update, our live-streaming services have considerably improved. The start-up time for the live streams is now around one minute. We also added a new start/pause option for live streams that does not completely scrap your live streaming instance but puts it in an idle state so you can easily resume it without changing any connection parameters.
Furthermore, the resume process is instant, so you can start live streaming the moment you resume your live stream server. This entire process is automatic and does not require any input from the publisher. As soon as it’s detected that no stream is live, it auto-pauses the server and waits for a new signal.
